Judging by the foliage I would say that the Ferd went through some bushes before deciding to make out with your poor Miata?

Ford truck also beats ‘66 Mustang.

This is tragic.

Ugh. I’m guessing/hoping it was hit while parked/unoccupied? Hope your girlfriend is OK.
Any photos of the driver’s side from the front? Looks like the F150 hit it at a crap angle. Bumper is pushing laterally on the end of your reinforcement, and the two o’clock position of your wheel/tire, which is fun for bearings and struts.

Aww, nuts. That sucks. It doesn’t look like a situation where airbags would deploy. So, there’s that.

Damn man sorry to see this. Hope the car gets fixed 100%, get every dime you can out of the moron that hit you.
The suspension on that car is so finely tuned, make sure that you test drive it for hours before deciding if the repair work is to your satisfaction. Keep sending it back until it’s done right.

to be fair, anything modern beats a 1966 Mustang in a collision.

The important thing is that she’s okay. But also: sucks, dude!

except a smart car. Mustang driver wouldnt even know.

The Smart has a very strong safety cage. It would definitely mess up a classic Mustang. Basically it’s making the other car it’s crumple zone. An ok approach, but doesn’t work well when it hits something fixed, which doesn’t crumple.

Interestingly, every piece thus made bendy is available new, or very close. It’s only original once, but hang if there aren’t a buttload of fresh parts for everything Mustang, to the point where this is a possible repair if the owner is insane and well-funded enough.

yeah but do they weight enough to not ping pong off?

I wasn’t insane. I’m sure someone bought it from the insurance company to salvage it, but it wasn’t going to be me.

They actually do ok with fixed objects.

Perhaps it was upset at losing a member today?
Happened here this morning, sadly the driver passed.
